One thing I've learned over the years of teaching kids about the Bible is that music helps you remember things.
Sometimes they are songs that are a little silly and just sort of get stuck in your head. Like the song "Father Abraham" which repeats the words "Father Abraham, had many sons, many sons had Father Abraham. And I am one of them, and so are you! So let's just praise the Lord!" and then you do things like pumping your arms, stomping your feet, nodding your head, and spinning around. You get really dizzy and you are worn out after you sing that song! And the song just sticks in your head!
But music can also help you remember things in a good way. And add in hand motions and you are in business!
So as we begin our study of the 10 Commandments I want to share a song that might help us remember this part of God's story.
This song is based on Exodus 20:1-3 which is where God tells His people that He was the one who brought them out of slavery and was going to lead them to the land He promised. He was their God and they were to be His people! What an amazing promise!
So listen to this song to remind you of His faithfulness and love for us! Maybe you can learn it as you watch it! Then come join me on Sunday and show me what you've learned!
With love! Mrs. Bess
